I Blame Global Warming

For my absence over the past week.

You know those weeks where you aren’t actually sick, no head cold or flu, but don’t feel well?  Yeah.  The migraine you can beat back but won’t disappear, the stomach ache that resembles a little contractor with a blow torch in your gut.  Good times.  Still took care of all the Fringie stuff I needed to take care of, and I wrote quite a bit.

I honestly think it has something to do with the weather.  I hate the freezing cold, and I hate the 50 degrees one day and 20 the next just as much.  It drains me, and leaves more laundry than I should have to think about.

Flower Child, on the other hand, has been having a spectacular stretch of heath and energy for about 10 days.  I don’t know why, but it’s a gift and I’m taking it.

I know you all hang onto my every pearl, but just in case you’ve been living your own lives, remember the idea I had back in November?  PerNoWriFeb.  Here we are, February 1st, and I intend to push myself as much as possible to get as much writing done as I can on the WIP.  I’m excited about this, I’ve been fairly productive, and I’m about a third of the way through the first draft.  Even better, I’m finding my rhythm again, losing the flatness, and even began making notes for a short story idea that I really, really like.  *Insert happy dance here*

I’m not sure what this will mean for my blogging non-schedule.  Posts might be scarce during this month if I put all the time I can into the WIP, or I could end up blogging quite a bit because I’m excited and need to blather on.

Or my head could explode from the freaking jackhammers that have been drilling every damn day for weeks now.

  1. That exploding planet is a perfect visual for what has taken up residence behind my right eye socket way too often of late.

I’m sorry for the blahhhh week you’ve had. I know them well. I am VERY happy that FC has been doing well, though, and truly hope that continues!

Hooray for writing goodness in all shapes and forms! 🙂 And well, blather, um write, when you can. 🙂

      1. I really do wonder if weather plays a role, there have been a lot of wild weather changes all winter but the last week has been particularly extreme and the pressure changes that go with it affect a lot of people I think. Empress has been “off” neuro-wise this week, esp with memory with no explanation at all (no missed meds, no illness- and memory is SO bad that I would almost welcome an illness to explain it- that is saying a lot given just how sick she could get.)

        1. I really believe it is playing a role. And this is normally the type of external circumstance that would put Flower Child into a bad stretch. Sigh. I think there are no answers for too many of these neuro issues.

          1. I agree, I keep wondering do I call neuro and try to get her in early? And then think why bother, it’s going on a decade of this, what magic fix can there possibly be that would make it worth bringing her into that hospital-germ-cesspool during flu season? I have the feeling you can relate. I am just relieved that FC is getting a very, very long overdue break. At times E will get an unexpected break (like now with pulmonary health) and we just take it and run with it! Now if only the migraines would run somewhere, ha!

          2. Exactly! I agree, stay clear of the hospital as much as you can, we know the neuro crud never has clear answers/solutions, not worth triggering the other nightmares.

And yes, I can’t remember the last time FC had a real break like this–it’s been 10 days!

  2. So glad to know that Flower Child is doing well, and I look forward to hearing about how your WIP is going. Write, write, write!

  3. Sorry you’re feeling unwell, even if it is an undefinable unwell. The weather changes and very low temperatures have the same effect on me, too.

As for when you blog – just do it when the mood takes you and you have time and energy. Organic blogging is usually the best!

  4. In a country like Pakistan, you just have to imagine weather changes to a little more extreme paired up with all the human made calamities and woala!! We have got head bangers everywhere 😦
Hope you dont have to feel this way again.

    1. Thank you! I just updated on the jackhammers 😉 it’s been a crazy week. Hope all has been peaceful for you. With any luck I’ll be able to catch up a little over this weekend on what you’ve been up to 🙂
