About

Mrs Fringe lives in Manhattan with her husband–Husband, three kiddos–Man Child, Nerd Child, and Art Child, two dogs–Big Senile Dog and Little Incredibly Dumb Dog, and the ever changing live stock in her reef tank.

Topics I expect to cover but claim NO expertise: broke in a wealthy city, parenting, writing, reefing, downward mobility, cooking, and dog poop.

  1. These all sound pretty familiar…except for the dog poop and parenting. Is the reefing (?) referring to sailing in heavy winds? (she said, feeling REALLY stupid for a savvy NYer.)

  2. Thank goodness broadsideblog asked what a “reefer” was. I wondered if it had something to do with growing cannabis. πŸ˜€ My husband and I used to breed and raise tropical fish.

  3. LOL, I’m just not that much of a live-on-the-edge kind of gal, TT πŸ™‚ I love my tank and critters. I think people who have never been hobbyists don’t realize how seriously we can take our tanks–whether they’re reef, saltwater, tropical, or planted.

    1. LOL! I was just posting on your blog when your comment came through. I’m glad you’re well and safe, I am too, and hoping a real and lasting change in attitude will come about from this devastation. πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Mrs Fringe! Great blog! I mostly read the posts about Sandy. I’m originally from Staten Island, and we were hit very badly there. I wrote a blog post about my experience with the storm, and its aftermath and all its heart breaks. And we’re still cleaning up. OK, take care!

    1. Hi Megan, welcome to Mrs Fringe πŸ™‚
Hearbreaking, to see the devastation on Staten Island. I live in Manhattan now, but lived in SI for a while–about 20 years ago, and grew up primarily in Brooklyn, the area I was raised in was flooded.

I’ve got mama stuff to do at the moment, but I will look for your Sandy post tomorrow, thanks for letting me know it’s there. πŸ™‚

  5. So, on *someone’s* advice, I joined and posted. And now I get to stalk you properly. Btw, I thought reefer was something COMPLETELY different. Wow.

  6. Read your post on One Cool Site. Just rolled on over here and found your photos. Good stuff. Now about the dog poop. I thought I was the only one who had found a niche in poop. I write about all kinds of poop. Mylie Cyrus poop. Cow tipping poop. Even country western lyrics poop. But now I discover there is a sub category. I am impressed.

    1. LOL, we’re a niche market, very exclusive! πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by and joining the conversation, I’m a little wacky, but we have some fun here in Fringeland πŸ˜€

  7. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.|
