Not So Shiny Anymore

Getting comfy, some scratches, some stretching, a few dings to make it homey.  Yup, this is my 100th post.  Happy Centennial to Mrs Fringe!

I was wondering what I would to to celebrate my 100th, and Diana, of  Talk to Diana, completely came through in her Wednesday post.  She wrote about this excellent neato-groovy-cool WordPress site, Reader’s Choice.  Wordpress bloggers can nominate their favorite post (yes, favorite post from their own blog) and have it featured, reaching a larger audience.  How cool is that?  I like this idea.  I enjoy blogging, and I love obsessing over my stats, watching my audience grow and having new people join the regulars in the comments section.

So, that’s what I’m going to do to celebrate my pigheaded sticktoitiveness.  Also, my poetic license with the English language.

Does Reader’s Choice really have a wide reaching audience? I have no clue, but that’s okay.

After all, these boots were made for walking. But I’m asking for my Fringelings’ help.  It’s only fair, because this post is as much a celebration of my Fringie followers as it is Mrs Fringe.  Thank you!!   I’m going to list a handful of what I think are my favorites, and I’m asking you to help me decide by casting a vote. Or nominate one you think I overlooked.  You can do that here in the comments section, by commenting on Mrs Fringe’s Facebook page, or Tweet @MrsFringe–I’m not sure how to link to Twitter, you can go through the little Twitter symbol on the left side of the page here.  If you haven’t already signed to follow me on Twitter, or liked me on Facebook, it’s a perfect opportunity.  I reserve the right to change my mind, go with the post that gets the most votes, or the reader who presents the most convincing argument.  I had a harder time than expected, choosing which ones to post.  Obviously I’m too in love with the sound of my own voice.

In no particular order, all posts were chosen for one of three reasons; a) I liked how it came out, b) I had fun writing it, or c) I remembered the title:

Once Upon A Time

Is It Trash Day

Hey Artist, Got A Dollar

And, Have An Orgasm

  1. Passing you a slice of tiramisu… 😉

Ok, upon reviewing your entries above, here are a few thoughts (and interestingly enough I did not end up choosing the ones I thought I would when I first skimmed the list!)

1/ Hey Artist, Got a Dollar? This really is a great piece, and seems to express well a lot of your thoughts about writing and life in general. If you want people to get to know you a little better and check out your other posts, this is a good way to introduce yourself.

2/ Once Upon a Time – your gift of writing truly shines through in a completely different way vs talking about your writing (does that make sense?), plus added insight into a significant chunk of what has given you your strength and shaped you into who you are today. You know I will always love this one anyway. ❤

    1. ❤ I absolutely understand your line of thinking. It is also the path that left me thinking I didn't know what to choose. There are a few posts, like Once Upon a Time, that I like that focus in on one part of me. But, Mrs Fringe is about all of me. And, thank you. For everything.

  2. Congrats on your 100th post! that is great. I am voting for Maiden, Mother, Crone. I missed this one in the past. I like that it lets the reader knows the origin of the name of blog. (i didn’t know that!)

  3. Congrats on the 100th post! I had a tough time deciding which post to vote for. I really struggled between hey artist, got a dollar and the orgasm one…but I think I will lean toward Hey artist, got a dollar!

    1. Thank you Diana! for the continued support, the info about Reader’s Choice, and of course, for playing along. ❤
PS: I get it, kinda hard to vote against an orgasm. :p

      1. I thought for sure I’d go for a post with “Orgasm” in it too. 😉 I figured if you were looking to snag readers- who is going to resist opening that one?! Not to mention it was a good post, anyway. I very much enjoyed Maiden, Mother, Crone as well. But I stand by Hey Artist, Got a Dollar? 🙂

          1. Yeah… Elections are tricky and all and you don’t want to have to deal with recounts and all that. You can always post one now and in a few months feature the other? Or…. what happens if more genius strikes and we have to choose between another gem and get stuck again?! Decisions, decisions.

          2. Hah! I think you’re safe on the strokes of genius. I was exhausted and useless all day today, after writing two blog posts and 700 words on my WIP yesterday, lol.

I’ll probably give it until tomorrow morning or afternoon, then choose one of the top two. For now 😀

  4. Maiden, Mother, Crone, because it provoked such intense thought & reaction in me. And isn’t that a part of what good writing should do?

  5. Seriously, how am I supposed to vote for JUST ONE?! Fortunately, I went to the Reader’s Choice website and saw that you can nominate more than one of your own blog posts (but can only currently be featured once a month)…that made me feel a bit better knowing maybe I can vote again. I like all of these suggestions you made–for an assortment of reasons, none the same with the exception that your writing shines in all of them! My vote this round goes to Maiden, Mother, Crone because I think this blog speaks volumes to a wide audience at some root emotions that don’t always get spoken much less addressed. Congratulations on hitting your 100th post!

    1. 😦 Aww, I knew you had the crud going around at your house, figured you weren’t up to playing. I hope you and yours are feeling better–luckily, according to the rules, we can do it again 😀
